If i have 3 VMWare servers on a local LAN. ESXi 6.5 can I schedule and run the cron jobs from one server? XSI-backup would be installed to each VMWare host, ssh enabled between them, Can i setup the cron jobs on one of the servers and have it fire off the jobs to all the servers?
Would I need XSI Pro to do this, or will it work from Free version.
On a side note, can this be installed and run from a Pi device or standalone linux box to schedule and run the jobs over ssh to VM hosts?
Can anyone give me some general guidelines or best practices on running XSiBackup to a offsite datastore.
ESXi6.5 with a NFS datastore connected by VPN link. Anyone currently doing this successfuly. Would I need Pro over free?
I am experiencing the same condition. var/logs/xsibackup.log is empty.
Isn't that exactly what's explained here?: (c)XSIBackup Classic: changes in version 11.0.0
Precisely the problem. There are multiple documents in the Resource and help section, with many docs about cron, not one of them reference this.
I created a backup job on /jobs/001
Set it to run every day @11AM trough the /conf/root-crontab
When I run ./xsibackup --update-cron I get the following output:
NOTICE: (c) XSIBackup kills any user launched jobs, make sure you don't overlap manual jobs
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
XSIBackup PID: 111833890 vmserver1.thevillageschool.net
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing to add to the root crontab
Current number of crond instances is 1, service seems to be running O.K.

Thank you very much, that is exactly the Documentation I was looking for. Spent a good couple hours searching for that info, why is it hidden away.
After running xsibackup --install-cron
it completes but there is no xsibackup-cron . there is a /jobs dir now.
Has something changed? Are jobs not scheduled trough xsibackup-cron any longer, is there updated documentation i can reference?
Thanks
Disregard.
I had a link sent to my gmail account, and was able to download from the browser.
WGET still fails with host unreachable BTW.
The key is invalid or has expired, only two downloads are allowed per key, download a new one at 33hops.com
Tried with six different emails from the download link form. With various browsers (IE11, Chrome, FF, Opera) Pasted the link into notepad first as plain txt to check. Wget also fails: wget: cant connect to the remote host.
Any sugestions?? Please send help
For a few days now I've been trying to DL/Install XSIBackup-Free. Keep getting The key is invalid or has expired, only two downloads are allowed per key, download a new one at 33hops.com
