Backup monitoring / Logfile monitoring

All,

is there a way of monitoring the backups so i can use a web based display to check them, at present of something like Nagios/checkmk to monitor the logfiles and show red/green traffic lights for easy view of the state of the backup.

Let me know your thoughts on this as it would be good if there was a central way to look at it even something built in.

obviously i know there is the email notification which i have setup

Well, you can monitor the logs with Nagios or any similar tool if you will. Doing so with ©XSIBackup-App is easy, as it's a CentOS 7 appliance. You can also achieve that by connecting to an ©ESXi host via SSHFS if you are using ©XSIBackup-DC (the service running directly on ©ESXi).

You can also use tail -f on the log files from a command line.
