Log Rotate

Just noticed our current xsibackup-cron.log is nearing 271G

Is there a log rotate function, size management script, or recommended process for manageing the xsibackup-cron.log file size?

Re: Log Rotate

Are you sure?, 271 gb. is a looooot of text, you must be backing up many VMs at a very high frequency rate. Even in that case, still looks a lot to me.

We'll add some log rotate feature in some future version, but, you just have to rename the elder and XSIBackup will create a new one.

Re: Log Rotate

I knoooooow.. lol .. that's what I was thinking!

yeah we do frequent backups and when I did a head, it has references to 2012.

Also, there was a lot of entries at one point referencing to a misconfiguration from the previous Admin which may have filled up the file and ran for months.

So I will rename it and let the XSI create a new one like you mentioned which seems to be the best method. I can then offload it to a TB backup drive and rotate manually if needed.

Thanks for replying!
