Testing a backup jobs / dryrun

Hello

How can I test a backup job without actually executing the job?
Something like dryrun...

Re: Testing a backup jobs / dryrun

There isn't any such option, sorry. Backup some small test VM instead.

Re: Testing a backup jobs / dryrun

Hello

This is not the problem.
I want to test some regexp. Please look at my second post "XSIBackup-DC regexp exclude vmdks help"
If I include in the backup vmdks controlled by the kubernetes cluster the specific vm is behaving very strange (during the backup that vm is rebooting randomly, the kubernetes cluster is complaining that they cannot control that vmdk-s, some services will become inaccessible).
I only want to backup from these vm the first disk (the boot disk).

Re: Testing a backup jobs / dryrun

Split your logic into different jobs to achieve your goal.
Consider scripting some logic to bring the VM out of the cluster while the backup is taking place.
You may also find useful the "l" option in the --options argument
