Actually I used XSIBackup-DC Vesion 1.5.0.7
For some of my VMs I need to create snapshots to save different states.
When those VMs are in the job-list for XSIBackup all the snapshots are removed after the backup.
Should this be a normal behaviour of XSIBackup? So when I use XSIBackup I cannot create snapshots on my own?
Thanks

That depends on what (c)ESXi version you are using. From (c)ESXi 7.0 all files in a virtual machine are read blocked, even when the VM is running on top of a snapshot, thus keeping preexisting snapshots is not possible. This is by design and a decission taken at (c)VMWare.

Your documentation does not make clear that XSIBackup is silently deleting existing snapshots on ESXi 7.0
at
https://33hops.com/xsibackup-dc-full-ma … on-account
you still say
> We may introduce some code to delete any eventual pre-existing snapshot when ©ESXi 7.0 or above is detected, by now knowing this is left to the Sysadmin: if you want all data to be backed up, do not keep snapshots in production virtual machines. If you backup some VM with previous snapshots in ©ESXi 7.0, you will have to, by now, edit the .vmx file to point it to the base disks before using the restored file set.

That text was outdated, we corrected the information.
Nonetheless this is stated in the program's output.
