temp-dir on a different file system than the destination file

I am rsyncing to a unix box that I do not control. I am getting the following error below because the temp-dir on a different file system than the destination file. Is there any way that I can modify the arguments that Onediff uses with rsync to change the temp dirs to the same file system as the destination?

CLXSIDF1 error: file transfer error: rsync: ERROR: cannot stat destination "/data2/home/XXX/Data/XXX/XXX-flat.vmdk": Not a directory (20)
rsync error: errors selecting input/output files, dirs (code 3) at main.c(641) [Receiver=3.1.2]

rsync --temp-dir=/tmp --partial-dir=../tmp file.txt dest:/path/

(c)XSIBackup is not compatible with Unix. You may get it working, we don't support it tough.
