We are using XSIBackup Free Version for almost a year now.
We are satisfied with the product and are thinking about upgrading to Pro or DC version.
Here is our setup:
[ESXI 1 with public IP]
Datacenter 2 (different location than Datacenter 1)
[ESXI 2 with public IP]
Every night or so:
1 -> XSIBackup 1 backup local backups of running VM.
2 -> XSIBackup 2 backup local backups of running VM.
3 -> XSIBackup 1 backup local backups of running VM to XSI Backup 2 using --backup-prog=rsync
4 -> XSIBackup 1 backup local backups of running VM to XSI Backup 2 using --backup-prog=rsync
Here is one remote backup conf example:
--description="Remote backup of ESXi-1 VM's on ESXi-2 (datastore2)" \
--exec=yes >> "/vmfs/volumes/datastore2/xsi-dir/var/logs/xsibackup.log"
Our mean goal is to reduce remote backup total time.
What would be our best upgrade option? Pro/DC? Why?

Undoubtedly (c)XSIBackup-DC will be your best option. From a conceptual point of view it is the same as (c)XSIBackup-Pro, DC is much faster though. It has been totally redesigned from scratch and reprogrammed in plain C and Assembler. Just try the Free version in some spare server, you won't use anything else since you do.
Hello, thanks for your feedback. Do you know how long is the trial for the DC version?
