backup speed from A to B is 10 times slower than B to A

i have small office site with two esxi 6.0.0 hosts and 1gb direct link between.

A is HP ProDesk 400 G2 MT (TPM DP) Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4590S CPU @ 3.00GHz
B is HP ProLiant DL20 Gen9 Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1220 v5 @ 3.00GHz

shame on me, i have realtek nic in A, so backup speed from B to A is reasonable 20-30MB/s with XSIBackup-free. (11.2.4)
but backup speed from A to B is only 3MB/s and heavy CPU load on B

where to lookup misconfiguration?

Make sure that you have activated cache on your HP ProLiant DL20 Gen9. The cache comes turned off in the BIOS in this type of server.

On the other side you are right, you aren't going to get much out of a Realtek chipset. Buy an Intel desktop NIC and add it to your HP ProDesk 400 G2 MT

You should achieve at least 70-80 MB/s
If you are not getting there, think what else could be causing a bottleneck.
