test email

Hellou,

Is the

./xsibackup --check-smtp=xxx@xxx.xxx --use-smtp=x

acctually gonna send test mail to the mailbox ? or it will just check whenever is everything OK.

i m getting this:

250-SIZE 157286400
250-PIPELINING
250-DSN
250-ENHANCEDSTATUSCODES
250-STARTTLS
250-8BITMIME
250-BINARYMIME
250-CHUNKING
250 SMTPUTF8
250 2.1.0 Sender OK
250 2.1.5 Recipient OK
354 Start mail input; end with <CRLF>.<CRLF>
Firewall rule SMTPout-25 closed.
Killed

And it seems legit to me. But no email is arriving. The thing is, we use custom "server" or to better put it a redirection to the o365 server, and we do have an exception that if it goes from mail custom1@company , that arrived to our redirection from internal network to custom1@company , it does not require username / password - all is working well on whatever devices / software we use

but xsibackup does have those fields as required (username with password).

But according to the test-check , all looks OK.

So the Hamlets question is: emailing or not emailing actual mail ?

Thank you.

Re: test email

Set --smtp-auth to "none" in the conf/smtpsrvs file.
