Hi,
I'm new here in the world of esxi so please bare with me. We have 18 VMs being backed up by xsi-backup which used to work fine. Recently backups have been failing. After checking the cron logs for xsibackup, I get the following error:
rm: can't remove '/vmfs/volumes/esxi-backup/ESXIHOST//VMNAME/VMNAME-flat.vmdk': Input/output error
rm: can't stat '/vmfs/volumes/esxi-backup/ESXIHOST//VMNAME/VMNAME-virt.nvram': Input/output error
Does anyone know what Input/Output error might mean and is there anywhere else I can look in order to troubleshoot this?
Thanks in advance.
Alex

Are you aware of the fact that you have double slashes in your paths?

Hi, sorry for the late reply. Yes I'm aware, that was a formatting mistake on my part. I still receive those errors whenever xsibackup tries to run. Thanks

Input/output error is usually thrown by NFS when it can't access some file system.
That error is indicating some gross I/O error, your datastore is not accessible or usable, it has nothing to do with XSIBackup, it just can't work if it can't access data.
