I have manually installed XSIBACKUP-PRO_11.0.2 in ESXi 6.7. After extracting the zip file and changing permissions on the install file I get a message: "-sh: ./xsibackup: Operation not permitted"
I then extracted all the files to the installation directory and run ./xsibackup and I get the same message: "-sh: ./xsibackup: Operation not permitted"
Any help will be appreciated since I have only a 15 day license to evaluate XSIBackup.

Are you installing as root?
You just have a permissions issue.
Follow the procedure detailed in the README.txt file for manual installation.
If you still get stuck, describe in detail every step you are taking and where exactly you get the error.

Hi, i have same problem. New installation as root on ESXi 6.7, but if i run ./xsibackup - Operation not permitted

Same answer: permission issue. There really isn't any obscure thing about the message you are receiving.
Revise permissions on the xsibackup and bin folder. Read the README.txt file please.

If i install to /tmp/ folder it works, if to /vmfs/volumes/Datastore - Operation not permitted

You are the sys admin of your system. Check why you don't have execution permissions on the /vmfs/volumes/Datastore datastore or choose a different location where you do have those permissions. There's nothing more to say from our part.

Hi, I install only ESXi downloaded from vmware, but I today tested two versions ESXi on my server Fujitsu Primergy TX1310 M3 with this result:
VMware-VMvisor-Installer-6.7.0-8169922.x86_64.iso = problem with permission on datastore
VMware-ESXi-6.7.0-9214924-Fujitsu-v451-1.iso = problem with permission on datastore
VMware-VMvisor-Installer-6.5.0.update02-8294253.x86_64.iso = NO problem with permission on datastore
VMware-VMvisor-Installer-6.7.0-8169922.x86_64.iso upgraded from 6.5 = problem with persmission on datastore
Second i go to the BIOS and disabled Secure Boot Control in: Security > Secure Boot Configuration
Now i haven't problem with permission on datastore ESXi 6.7 - works normal.

sh: ./xsibackup: Operation not permitted message is due to secure boot being turned to on, turn it off and reboot.
When it happens in ©ESXi 8 and above and you have already turned off secure boot, it can be due to execInstalledOnly policy being enabled in the host.

©XSIBackup includes the logic to prevent the operation not permitted message by deactivating the feature right before the backup and activating it right after the backup has taken place.
This is achieved by setting aliases in the ©ESXi host that invoke the neccessary commands to disable/ enable execInstalledOnly policy when running ©XSIBackup. For those aliases to be set up in your system you need to install ©XSIBackup using the installer.
