Have emailed. Thank you
1 have a daily backup cron job (onediff), and a single weekend one (vmfkstools)
The weekend one goes through but of late the daily one does not.
when i do a ./xsibackup --update-cron, i get this error:
"wc:standard input:Interupted system call"
and the usual messages saying cron service seems to be ok
How do I rectify this?
Is the --options=no-500M-check still valid for ver 11.02 and above?
Has this issue been resolved?
Any updates on this matter? Cannot figure out why this mismatch happens with such regularity
Hi,
I keep getting the same OneDiff errors. This is for all running VMs on the server. One of which is (Xpenology)linux based and the other Windows 10.
Last error raised for the above VM:
ERROR DIFQMSH4, details: [ds3615] error: first 500M mistmatch [ds3615_2-flat.vmdk]
Last error raised for the above VM:
ERROR DIFQMSH4, details: [FD1] error: first 500M mistmatch [Win10_AMD-flat.vmdk]

Also, the corresponding VMs also create " accessible" namesakes with the "xxx_XSIBACK"
I have tried removing all snapshots, consolidating the VMs. Then delete the backup folders. And then restart the job again. Same errors still.
This is with 11.02 xsibackup Pro
using Xsidiff , I keep getting errors of snapshot deletion failures. So they are clogging up and taking up space. How do you correct this, and also delete these snapshots manually?
You must be doing something wrong. Are ayou aware of the fact that the new crontab is conf/root-crontab?
You must place schedules there according to what's described here: (c)XSIBackup Classic: changes in version 11.0.0
And then run the --update-cron command.
After you have completed the above procedure, make sure that you have your crontab in the /var/spool/cron/crontabs/root crontab file
Yes I checked the crontab at conf/root-crontab. Also checked that I did the --update-cron again. It even shows the msg " the service seems to be running ok"
And also check that the crontab is in the /var/spool/cron/crontabs/root crontab file. All seems to be there.
But the cron job does not fire
if its still the same ./xsibackup --install-cron, then I did.
Yes I read about the new changes, and I also did the --update-cron after the changes I made.
Everything seems to work when I ran the --run-backup=001 command
Been trying out new 11.0.1 free version. Backups fine, but my cron simply does not fire. I get no error messages, and the log file is empty.
What could I be doing wrong? any new permissions needed for any of the files?
it is possible to backup the VMs to 2 different datastores /NFS locations simultaneously or consecutively?
Hi,
So the suggested solution is to change the NAS configuration to sync NFS if it was on Async NFS? How do you do that for an iscsi volume from a synology NAS?
I did not enable DRS. no VMs are moved around. The statement about placing the hosts in Vcenter was a hypothetical question - it is something I need to do in the pipeline but I wanted to check that the backups work properly first.
Hi Daniel,
Nothing has changed from these windows VM , only the xsibackup version. It was all good before moving to ver 10.
I will try rebooting.
Does placing the hosts into Vcenter make any difference?
Ever since I "updated" to the 10.3.0 xsibackup, I keep getting these errors of failure
"ERROR CLVMKFS1 details: [OP2_Win10] error: vmkfstools error details: Failed to clone disk:"
These are all Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 VMs. Is there something radically different in this new version ?
Hi,
I have a similar error with 2 windows 8.1 VMs which will will make one VM will make it to 75% done, and the other to about 47% done because it gives the " Failed to clone disk: Input/output error (327689)" in the log.
This is with a cold backup.
The VMs otherwise boots and works fine.
How to diagnose what is wrong and remedy it?
For the free version, is it possible to start the next backup right after the previous one is done?
Would it be possible to back up some VMs warm (eg backup-how=hot), and the rest cold within the same cron job?
The reason is my Napp IT vm provides the NFS datastore and I do not wish to shut it down for a cold backup.
thanks
